Westgate Health and Fitness Club now introduces our NEW Boxing Ring. So wherether your a natural Mohamed Ali or would just like to incorporate lightning speed mobility and knockout punches into your workouts, Westgate Health & Fitness Club / Gym is the perfect place to get you started with boxing.

Westgate Health and Fitness Club's circuit boxing follow the traditional regime of the ring, including; heavy punching bag, speed ball, rope skipping and punching techniques.

This specialised program will help develop aerobic fitness with deft co-ordination. It will provide the participants with skills that heighten ambidexerity and give a working knowledge of self defense and a great form of STRESS release.

Westgate Health & Fitness gym new boxing ring in Altona, can accomodate up to twenty (20) personnel, the program can be individualised or set-up to suit your particular group dynamics and time lines.

Boxing Benefits

Westgates' Circuit Boxing is a unique blend of selected boxing exercises and adapted to modern circuit training facilities. The exercise routine is suitable for both genders and provides an excellent aerobic workout. Skill sets are taught through all sessions with an emphasis on the establishment of traditional western boxing techniques with balance through both movement and technique.

All sessions are conducted on a 2 minute round regime with 30 seconds rest and change-over.
The routine allows for individual difference and the and the sequencing allows for a self-paced advancement. The skills sector starts with the basic stance required for orthodox (right-handed) or south-paw (left-handed) participants, move through the basic punches to the more complex sets of combination punching.

This sequencing not only builts individual confidence it helps to stimulate a team environment with encouragement and support from participants.

Boxing Training Regime

Session duration:
45 to 50 minutes
Two (2) minute rounds
Thirty (30) second intervals

Sequence:
Warm-up (aerobic)
Skipping
Speed Ball
Sit-up / Medicine Ball
Heavy Bag / Ring Craft Tuition
Shaddow Boxing
The sequence above is repeated throughout the session (without Warm-up and Warm-down).
Warm-down (abdominal)
