What is Preggi Bellies?

Preggi Bellies is a post-natal exercise program designed by physiotherapists, specialised personl trainers and pilates instructors. It was developed specifically to meet the need for women to be able to improve their fitness and strength safely during and after pregnancy (In accordance to the Australian obst and Gynac. pregnancy ex quidelines).

Preggi Bellies has been running in Australia since 1998 and more than 5,000 women have participated in the program.

Class Content

The Preggi Bellies exercise class is an hour long aerobics-based class designed to increase cardiovascular fitness, strength and stability. It provides toning and strengthening to all major muscle groups, promoting a healthy, strong and fit pregnancy.

Working On The Ball

The classes are conducted on the MediBall which provides a comfortable base of support, encouraging good posture and pelic positioning. In addition the ball supports the pelvic floor muscles during exercise reducing the incidence of incontinuence.

This unique way of exercising provides an intensive core abdominal workout while significantly lowering the impact on the spine.

Each exercise in the Preggi Bellies program is easily modified by expert trainers to allow pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy to achieve optimum fitness.
